He stressed that building a university largely dependent on internally generated funds requires collective effort and praised the Credit Union’s role in UENR’s development. He urged staff to take good care of the donated items cautioning against misuse or premature damage.
Taking his turn, Board Chairman of the UENR Cooperative Credit Union, Dr. Alfred Ohenenana Appiah, explained that the Union’s ability to sustain such donations depends on the collective commitment of its members. He encouraged all staff who are not yet members to quickly join the Credit Union. Reiterating that the more the members, the more the union can get money and the more the union can do to support the University. Dr. Appiah further urged existing members to reduce the withdrawal syndrome and keep their funds invested.
Representatives from the benefiting offices expressed gratitude to UENR Co-operative Credit Union and pledged to put the items to good use.
The gesture forms part of activities lined up towards the Union’s 10th anniversary celebration, which is scheduled to climax in November this year. As the anniversary approaches, the Union hopes to deepen its corporate social responsibility efforts while expanding its membership and financial base to sustain future support for the University community.
